About
YUGA
A Story Woven Through a Lifetime
YUGA was not created as a business plan.
It was born from a lifelong relationship with clothing.
My first skirt was sewn when I was six years old.
I grew up in the south of Ukraine, where beautiful clothing was difficult to find. Most people wore the same things available in local shops. My mother often sewed clothes for our family, and from an early age I learned that clothing could be created, not simply purchased.
Soon I began making clothes for myself. At school, classmates nicknamed me “the seamstress” because I was always designing, sewing, and experimenting with my own style.
Fashion became both my passion and my profession.
I studied Design and Technology, worked in the fashion industry, styled advertising campaigns and magazines, created collections, and organized fashion shows. Clothing was never simply fabric for me. It was a way to express identity, freedom, and individuality.
Bali: Where YUGA Was Born
Years later, life brought me to Bali.
There I became a mother, taught yoga daily, and immersed myself in a slower, more conscious way of living.
Yet I faced a simple problem.
I could not find clothing that felt right.
Most garments were synthetic, uncomfortable, or disconnected from the lifestyle I wanted to live. I also struggled to find natural, comfortable clothing for my children.
So I returned to what I had always done.
I searched for beautiful fabrics, found local artisans and talented tailors, and began creating clothing for myself, my yoga practice, and my family.
Soon my yoga students started asking:
“What are you wearing?”
“Can you make one for me too?”
At first, I would sew a single piece. Then three. Then ten.
Without planning it, a small collection began to grow.
What started with yoga skirts and children’s clothing slowly expanded into dresses, everyday wear, loungewear, and intimate garments.
The demand grew naturally, one person at a time.
From Yoga Wear to Fashion Collections
As the collections expanded, I was invited to present my work at fashion events.
I created a full collection for a runway show in Ubud at the beautiful Paradiso venue. The response was overwhelming.
It was not my first experience on the runway. Years earlier I had already presented collections in Kyiv, where my work received enthusiastic attention.
But Bali gave the brand its soul.
It was there that YUGA truly became what it is today.
The Unexpected Success of Men’s Clothing
For many years I designed exclusively for women.
Then one day I created several pieces of men’s clothing as gifts for a birthday celebration.
What happened next surprised me.
People constantly stopped the wearer on the street asking where he had found such unusual clothing. Even in Los Angeles, strangers approached him wanting to know the brand.
That unexpected response inspired me to develop a men’s collection.
Today, men’s clothing has become one of the most loved parts of YUGA.
Slow Fashion, Made in Bali
Every YUGA garment is created in Bali in collaboration with skilled local artisans.
We work with natural fabrics and small-scale production because we believe clothing should be made thoughtfully, not rushed.
Many of our pieces are produced in limited quantities or made to order.
This process takes more time, but it allows us to maintain quality, reduce waste, and stay true to the values of slow fashion.
Because each piece is created just for you, please allow around 14–21 business days for your order to be crafted and shipped. Slow fashion takes time — and that’s the point.
Good things are not rushed.
More Than Clothing
Over the years, many people have told me the same thing after wearing YUGA:
“It feels like a protective cocoon.”
I have always smiled when hearing this because there is something deeply true about it.
For almost a decade, every day, I consciously bless the clothing we create, the people who make it, and the people who wear it.
Perhaps this intention is felt within every garment.
Perhaps clothing carries the energy with which it is created.
Whatever the reason, my wish is simple:
That every person who wears YUGA feels comfortable, protected, confident, and completely free to be themselves.
Freedom of Being Yourself
YUGA is more than clothing.
It is a celebration of individuality, natural living, movement, creativity, and freedom.
Created with intention.
